S.O.S.
As I desperately cling
To the gunwale
Of my flimsy wooden dinghy
Tossed skyward
By tempestuous dreams,
You serenely gaze out from the shore,
And matter-of-factly comment on
The pleasant calmness of the seas.
|
I quiver
High up
In the sulky sky;
Frozen at the summit--
Zero angle--
I dangle
By fingertips
From the ferris wheel of life.
Far, far below
I can see
A faint smile
Flicker
In your crocodile eyes.
